CASTING AWAY

India is a country that has immense faith and belief in RELIGION, GODS and RITUALS and so the country is blessed with innumerable ghats and holy rivers which connects faith and also land.

The above picture is of Damodar River which flows across the Indian states of Jharkhand and West Bengal, its source being the Chota Nagpur Plateau. The river is rich in mineral resources and is home to large scale industrial activities.

People and devotees have a bath in the holy water as they believe having a bath will wash away their sins.

The river has an attached dam to with known as Barrage Dam which helps in generating electricity to the cities like Durgapur and Panagarh.
